The village also enjoys an enviable position in the National Forest with it's numerous walks including, Bagworth New Wood which was planted between 1990 and 1992 by Leicestershire County Council, the former Bagworth Colliery site has been reclaimed with a mixture of woodland, open grassland and hedged fields.
